Chief Marketing Officer Residential Home Improvement Location: Primarily remote/hybrid, with estimated monthly travel to company headquarters in Pennsylvania Employment Type: Full-Time The Opportunity We are conducting a confidential search for a Chief Marketing Officer to join a founder-led, high-growth residential home improvement company with approximately $57 million in annual revenue and an ambitious goal of reaching $100 million within the next three years. Operating across multiple locations in Pennsylvania, New York, and South Carolina, the company has established a strong market presence through traditional media, digital marketing, retail partnerships, and direct-to-consumer lead generation. As the organization enters its next phase of growth, it is seeking an accomplished, commercially minded CMO to lead its marketing strategy, optimize customer acquisition, and build a scalable marketing organization. Reporting to executive leadership and working closely with the owner, CEO, and COO, this individual will have significant influence over the company’s growth trajectory. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, a deep understanding of the residential home improvement industry, and a proven ability to connect marketing investment directly to sales and revenue performance. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth ● Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company’s goal of growing from approximately $57 million to $100 million in annual revenue. ● Partner closely with the owner, CEO, COO, and sales leadership to establish growth priorities, develop annual marketing plans, and align marketing initiatives with business objectives. ● Identify opportunities to expand market share, strengthen existing markets, and support future geographic expansion. ● Evaluate marketing performance, customer acquisition trends, competitive activity, and market opportunities to inform strategic decisions. ● Build scalable marketing processes, infrastructure, and reporting capabilities to support continued growth. 2. Full-Funnel Marketing & Revenue Performance ● Own the marketing funnel from initial consumer awareness and lead generation through call center conversion, appointment setting, sales handoff, and revenue. ● Establish and monitor performance metrics across channels, including cost per lead, cost per appointment, lead-to-appointment conversion, customer acquisition cost, and return on marketing investment. ● Partner with call center and sales leadership to identify opportunities to improve lead quality, appointment conversion, sales efficiency, and overall revenue performance. ● Leverage ImproveIt 360 (i360) CRM to track and analyze lead sources, appointment setting, sales conversion, and revenue performance. Identify opportunities to improve data visibility, lead management, and overall marketing ROI. ● Develop strategies to improve marketing productivity while balancing lead volume, acquisition costs, and operational capacity. 3. Integrated Marketing & Customer Acquisition ● Lead an integrated marketing strategy across traditional and digital channels, including television, radio, direct response, SEO, SEM, paid social, and other performance marketing initiatives. ● Oversee television advertising strategy, including media planning, agency performance, reach, frequency, and campaign effectiveness. ● Evaluate and optimize third-party lead generation and lead aggregation partnerships. ● Direct retail and field marketing strategies, including the company’s established Home Depot partnership, home shows, and events. ● Oversee brand positioning, creative strategy, messaging, and communications to support customer acquisition and market differentiation. ● Ensure alignment across traditional, digital, retail, and field marketing efforts to maximize overall marketing performance. 4. Marketing Budget & Financial Accountability ● Oversee a significant marketing budget, representing approximately 12% of annual company revenue. ● Develop annual marketing budgets, forecasts, and channel investment strategies aligned with revenue objectives. ● Evaluate marketing spend and agency performance to maximize lead quality, customer acquisition efficiency, and return on investment. ● Provide executive leadership with clear reporting, performance insights, and recommendations regarding marketing investment and business growth. 5. Organizational Leadership & Development ● Provide leadership across performance marketing, call center operations, retail and field marketing, events, creative communications, and external agency partners. ● Develop and mentor marketing team composed of in-house staff as well as third-party vendors while establishing clear accountability, measurable objectives, and performance expectations. ● Strengthen collaboration between marketing, sales, operations, and executive leadership. ● Assess organizational capabilities and identify talent, technology, and process improvements needed to support future growth. ● Foster a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and results-driven culture. Qualifications & Experience ● 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including significant senior leadership responsibility within the residential home improvement industry. ● Direct home improvement industry experience is required, ideally within bath remodeling, windows, roofing, siding, or another high-volume, in-home sales category. ● Demonstrated success leading marketing for a substantial, multi-location home improvement business, ideally within a comparable growth environment. ● Proven ability to develop and execute marketing strategies that directly contribute to revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion. ● Strong expertise in traditional media, particularly television advertising, combined with deep knowledge of digital and performance marketing. ● Comprehensive understanding of the home improvement customer acquisition funnel, including lead generation, call center operations, appointment setting, in-home sales, and conversion metrics. ● Strong CRM experience, ideally with ImproveIt 360 (i360), including reporting, marketing attribution, funnel analytics, and integration with call center and sales processes. ● Experience managing significant marketing budgets, agencies, third-party lead providers, and cross-functional teams. ● Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to translate complex performance data into actionable business strategies. ● Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in a growing, entrepreneurial organization. ● Excellent communication, collaboration, and executive-level relationship management skills. ● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred.
